Cookies

Our web servers store so-called “cookies” in the memory of your browser, i.e. small text files with data that serve the technical session control, in particular the identification of the browser, for the duration of the visit to the website. These cookies are automatically deleted 120 days after your visit to our website. They facilitate navigation through our website and allow us to make an anonymous evaluation of general user behavior based on the number of visitors. Of course, you can also view our website without cookies. Most browsers accept cookies automatically. You can prevent cookies from being stored or have your browser warn you before a cookie is stored by adjusting your browser settings accordingly. For more information about these features, see your browser’s Help menu. However, you may have limited or no use of some of our website features, web pages or parts thereof if you restrict the use of cookies.
Clear GIFS (“Web Beacons”)
Also known as “web beacons” or “single-pixel GIFs,” clear GIFs are very small images (typically 1 x 1 pixel) that help websites better understand their customers. Even though all kinds of files can act as web beacons, clear GIFs are the most popular because they cannot interfere with the operation of web pages due to their very small file size. Clear GIFs work like cookies and are used to track and measure online actions performed by website users. Unlike cookies, clear GIFs are not stored on the user’s hard drive, but are embedded in the graphics, text or other components of the web pages. Web pages and graphical emails use codes that give instructions to your computer when a page is opened. While these typically include the text and graphics visible to you on the screen, web pages also often include instructions or tags that prompt the web page’s server to send you more content (for example, an image or block of text that changes frequently). Web beacons are retrieved in the same way as the text and graphics visible to you on a web page or in an email, and the action of retrieving the material from another server allows the event to be counted. When a user’s browser requests information from our website, we may use GIFs to collect “passive” information such as your computer’s IP address, the time the material was viewed, the type of browser that retrieved the image, and the prior existence of cookies from our site. This is information that can be collected through the use of cookies. Web beacons do not reveal any “additional” information. They conveniently help us to collect the simple statistics and manage cookies. Clear GIFs can be used by third parties to monitor activity on the website. Disabling browser cookies prevents web beacons from tracking their specific activities. However, web beacons can still record an anonymous visit from your IP address.

Facebook

This website uses Facebook tools that may use cookies, web beacons, and other storage technologies to collect or obtain information from your web pages and other places on the Internet, and then use that information to provide measurement services and targeted advertisements. You can stop data collection and find more information about your options here: http://www.aboutads.info/choices and http://www.youronlinechoices.eu.
